Uczył się w szkołach plastycznych w Zakopanem, a potem na ASP w Warszawie. Na trzecim roku chciał już zrezygnować ze studiów i pójść do łódzkiej filmówki, ale ogłoszono konkurs na pomnik Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego. Wysłał swój projekt i wygrał. Tak zaczęła się jego kariera. Jest autorem pomnika praskiej kapeli podwórkowej w Warszawie, pomnika studenta, Stefana Starzyńskiego i wielu innych.
